Au Pair Belgium assists host families and au pairs with the 3 steps of a placement. These steps are:
Recruitment and selection
We recruit mainly non-European au pairs and place au pairs from for example Thailand, Indonesia,Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, South-Africa and Madagascar.
Each au pair candidate provides an engaging video presentation, at least 2 references, a motivation letter, a resume, school and university diploma, some photos, clean police record and an interview report. We also verify if the au pair is in good health to be au pair.
Once the host family could have a look at the profiles of the au pair candidates, we will schedule an interview with the au pairs they selected. During this interview, the host family and the au pair candidate get introduced, present themselves and exchange useful information. We will help the host family and provide useful guidelines for the interview.
When your choice is made and the match between the host family and the au pair is confirmed, Au Pair Belgium will start the placement process.
Placement procedure
We collect the documents required for the application of the work permit and long stay visa.We file the applications with the competent public authorities and accurately monitor the process.
We guarantee that the au pair effectively arrives in the host family.
We provide host families a suitable medical insurance for the au pair and enroll the au pair for language courses.
The full process will take approximatively 3 to 4 months.

After Care
More than 98% of our placements are successful.
After arrival of the au pair, we are at your disposal 24/7 if you have any questions.
The au pair can also contact us in case of questions.
We organize fun Au Pair Events and will connect our au pairs with each other.
If there should be a problem, we offer mediation and coaching, and will discuss together the most appropriate solution. If necessary, we will assist you with the termination of the placement, look for a new host family for the au pair or place a new au pair for free.
Costs of the placement process
Besides the monthly pocket allowance of 450€ of the au pair, the host family will bear the following costs:
- Subscription fee for language courses in an accredited language school
- Visa contribution fee
- Premium of the insurance covering medical, hospitalization and repatriation costs,
- Most host families bear part of the costs of the airplane tickets of the au pair (two ways),
- Our agency’s placement fee.
